Today's lesson

continuation of Romans 10:4

Previously we had studied that Christ is the END

Today we continue with Romans 10:4,

The end, OF? the law...

Christ, it the end of the LAW for righteousness

there must be the law, to have an end of the law!

and the end of the Law is FOR righteousness!

There is a problem with humanity:

For all have sinned and come short (does not come to the end) of the glory of God!

Ps 97:6, righteousness = glory;

Meaning sinners do NOT have righteousness!

In order to have righteousness, must come to the end of the law,

and the end of the law is CHRIST

Righteousness = the end of the law = Christ

FOR THE PROBLEM OF HUMANITY; THE ANSWER IS TO ACCEPT CHRIST

WHO IS THE END OF THE LAW, RIGHTEOUSNESS!

What is the end (Strong's G5056, telos)

the meanings include,

end of a time, custom, continual

also UTTERMOST (1 Thes 2:16)

(it's not the end, but the peak point, nothing beyond that)

let's compare with another "the end, telos"

1 Timothy 1:5, what is at the end?

Now the end of the commandment (law)

is charity (love)

out of a pure heart,

and of a good conscience,

and of faith unfeigned:

so, it is

the end of the law is Love !

Christ is the uttermost LOVE!

(the end) (the end) (the end)

CONCEPT

Cannot be half-way; cannot be half-righteous!

Matthew 5:20,

For I say unto you,

That except your righteousness shall exceed the

righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,

ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

(letter of the law, but not spirit of the law, outward appearance)

(only Christ is the end of the law for righteousness)

is the righteousness of the scribes & Pharisees

UTTERMOST? NO!

IF YES, then the scribes & the Pharasees

is the end of the law for righteousness!

1 Timothy 1:5,  Now the end of the commandment (law)

    is charity (love) - G26

other Bible verses with G26 and commandments (law)

1) John 15:10

if you ye keep my commandments ye shall abide in my LOVE (G26)

2) 1 John 5:3

For this is the LOVE (G26) of God, that we keep his commandments:

and his commandments are not grievous.

3) 2 John 1:6

And this is love (G26), that we walk after his commandments.

This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning,

ye should walk in it.

THE CONCLUSIONS SO FAR,

THE END OF THE LAW = CHARITY, LOVE = KEEP COMMANDMENTS

= TO OBEY

= NOT TO SIN

THE END = PERFECT OBEDIENCE AS DEMANDED BY THE LAW = RIGHTEOUSNESS

ree

THE END = FULFIL THE FULL DEMAND OF THE LAW

ree

= 100% OBEDIENCE

= QUALIFY TO PAY THE WAGES OF SIN, DEATH, ETERNAL DEATH!

(Christ lived a perfect righteous life fulfils the law)

(When Christ died he was WITHOUT sin, he died to fulfil the law,

yet he never sinned and therefore he could come out of death,

no human can ever do)

= human who pays the penalty of sin, can never pay what is required by the law,

eternal death, human for eternity has to pay, and never come out of death!

= Christ is the ONLY ONE who had paid eternal death! only the one who

is eternal who had overcome sin, can pay the eternal death!

Romans 8:3

Father (God) sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh condemn sin in the flesh

This is the ONLY ANSWER sinners inability to fulfil the law!

Romans 13 :10,

therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Father (God) sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh condemn sin in the flesh

This is the ONLY ANSWER sinners inability to fulfil the law!

CHRIST ALONE HAS 100% PERFECT OBEDIENCE, WHO HAS RIGHTEOUSNESS,

WHO ALONE FULFILL THE LAW

ree

Application:

Do we (human, sinners) have an excuse for sin?

Christ who is 100% humanity, offers his righteousness (perfect obedience)

to anyone who believes in HIM
